Size Me Up

Women’s clothing sizing has certainly changed over the years, to the point where we can hardly decide where to start in the clothing stores. Susie and Barb peruse a 1946 Butterick pattern book and note that measurements for a size 10 were 28-24-31, smaller than today’s size 0 (30-22-32). What gives? Partly psychology, partly a lack of standards, and a lot of wishful thinking! Why is a size 2 the new size 8 in the aspirational diet commercials?

I’d like to go into why so many woman, mainly girls 16-25 are wearing clothes that are too small for them.
Where they have that big bulge over the top of the pants.
It seems more and more people are not wearing clothes that actually fit them.
To me, its all about the fit. You have the correct fit on any body size and it just makes the outfit that much better.
Its sad especially in this day where they call Britney Spears “fat” on the MTV Awards. I certainly do not think she is fat, but I do think that given the right fitting clothes it would give her body a different image.
