		<description>I haven't even finished listening but I had to point out that pompei was preserved within ash, not lava. The top of the volcano exploded, the folks of Pompei began to panic and they were immediately buried within a deluge of muddy ash and super-heated gas. The lava came later. This is the reason we can excavate the town with relative ease. If it had been just lava, there wouldn't be anyone left in town as lava is generally much slower moving.

Oh Mamaloo - I am so embarrassed not to know about the ash/lava thing, but I have to admit, I never understood why anyone would stand still while being covered with lava. Thanks for solving one of life's mysteries for me. I wouldn't want to go either way. And thanks for indulging me on the spelling thing.
