Public Sculpture

There has always been sculpture in public spaces, and it has always caused its share of controversy. Reasons vary from political to aesthetic. The girls talk about their favorites, and also come up with a few ideas of their own. Listen in, and then tell us about your favorites and their appeal.

Your discussion of public art and george Segal in particluar got me
thinking about an artist from Wisconsin named Marc Sijan. He is
famous for his ultra realistic sculptures of everyday people. Here is

If you have ever been to the Midwest Express Center in Milwaukee you
may have seen his sculpture of a security guard. The first time I saw
it I actually thought it was a real person.

Thanks Mark, I forgot to mention his work. Gregg and I saw the
sculpture you are referring to and once we realized the sculpture was
not a real person, we sat back and watched other people’s reaction to
it. It was amazing. The best part about his work is that the people
look “real”.
