Barb and Susie reflect on the themes of TV shows past and present. One genre in particular - family situation series - has gone from the Father Knows Best variety through All in the Family to Arrested Development, and on to Friends and Sex in the City, showing first the perfect family, then the imperfect family, the dysfunctional family, and then the family made up of friends, not relations.
