Terrorism as Entertainment

Considered non-PC immediately following 9/11, terrorism is de rigueur in entertainment these days. Replacing the Germans of mid-century entertainment and the Russians of Cold War entertainment, our bad guys in movies and TV are now always Middle Eastern. Torture and violence continue to escalate as typical fare, so we question, where will it end? Is reality TV headed for actual deaths?
