Boo!
by Susie Watson on October 25th, 2005
Susie and Barb get into the Halloween spirit and talk of brushes with
the spirit world and other eerie experiences. Susie explains to Barb
that the reason her seances didn’t work was because she used a
flashlight instead of candles, and Barb reminisces about her Ouija
board. Trick or Treat!
You Call That Progress?
by Susie Watson on October 18th, 2005
If a cannibal used a knife and fork, would you call that progress?
Susie and Barb discuss the concept of progress in today’s world and
some hypothetical litmus tests. Examples in our culture abound and it
seems there is little agreement over what constitutes progress in any
field. One person’s progress is another person’s regress. Listen and
comment below!
Unscripted Celebrities
by Susie Watson on October 12th, 2005
Without scripts, celebrities can’t seem to act their way out of a
paper bag. Put them on a talk show, an awards show, any
extemporaneous situation and they become illiterate (Bush) or even
stranger, raving lunatics (Tom Cruise). Why is this? Susie and Barb
rib and razz on this topic of little gravity.
Podcasting - Future Tense
by Susie Watson on October 4th, 2005
Barb and Susie and producer Gregg discuss how the podcast thing is
going to shake out. The winners, the losers, where is the money, and
will the people come? Susie, the tech luddite, says no, not until
someone does what AOL did for the internet, making user interface
friendly and simple, stupid. Greg thinks iTunes is already winning
the race. Barb tells of venture capital investments in Odeo and
Podshow. So sit back, the games have just begun.
