3 Game Shows That You Can Stream This Weekend

Baseball may be America’s pastime when it comes to sports, but when it comes to television, I’d reckon that honor would go to game shows. While their popularity has fluctuated over the years, right now we are living in a golden age for the genre. Not just on network and cable TV, but on streaming services as well. It’s time now to look at three great game shows you can stream right now.

Deal or No Deal

The show that swept the nation and single-handily revitalized Howie Mandel’s career, originated in the Netherlands but the US version was the one that was heard around the world. The premise is simple, 26 briefcases hold 26 dollar amounts ranging from one penny to $1,000,000 and the contestant must choose the briefcase that they think holds the million dollars. Meanwhile they’ll get offers from the banker to leave the game to which they’ll be asked the question: Deal or No Deal?

Where to Stream: All seasons of Deal or No Deal, including the recent revival season that was on CNBC, are available on Amazon Prime Video. However, the first season is missing the last nine episodes, but they can be found on Tubi where the first four seasons are streaming for free with ads.

Awake: The Million Dollar Game

What do you get when you combine sleep deprivation and physical and mental challenges? You get Game Show Network’s 2003 series Cram. You also get Netflix’s 2019 show Awake: The Million Dollar Game. Hosted by comedian James Davis, Awake starts out with seven contestants sleep-deprived for 24 hours where they must count quarters. Then they compete in a series of games where they could win the opportunity to win what they counted or risk it for a shot at the million dollar grand prize.

Where to Stream: You can find all eight episodes of the show’s only season on Netflix.

The Game of Life

Join host Frank Nicotero in this game show version of the classic board game. Two families of three players take turns in the Game of Life car answering questions to build up as many Life Points as they can. The team with the most Life Points after three rounds including the stunt round, wins the chance to go to the famous spinner for a shot at winning the grand prize.

Where to Stream: The complete 26 episode series is available to stream for free with ads on Tubi.
