Funko Friday: Find Your Happy Place With ‘Disney Happiest Day: Magic Kingdom’

This week, we’re journeying to “The Happiest Place On Earth” with Disney Happiest Day: Magic Kingdom from Funko Games, for 2 to 6 players ages 5+. Having vacationed to Disney World last summer and heading there again next summer, this summer was the perfect time for my family and I to sit down together and relive the magic that Disney’s parks have to offer and to prompt us into making plans for our next visit.

The objective of Disney Happiest Day: Magic Kingdom is to travel around the park collecting stars. Stars are accumulated by visiting the attractions and Disney characters scattered throughout the Magic Kingdom. As players return time and again to Cinderella’s Castle, day turns into night, changing the game board into a nighttime experience. Players race to collect stars before Tinker Bell completes her flight over the castle, signifying the end of the game.

Included in the game box are Cinderella’s Castle with Base and Tile, 6 Character figures, the two-sided Game Board, Tinker Bell marker, 72 Park Cards, 48 Balloon Tokens in 4 different colors, the Spinner, and the Instructions. Average gameplay sessions last around 20 minutes.

As I mentioned, this game came at the right time for me and my family to play test, and we had a blast. There is an element of luck with which Park Cards are drawn and which balloons are spun, blended nicely with the strategic part of the game of knowing which balloons to spend to help you move most effectively and efficiently throughout the park collecting those stars. Much like the Magic Kingdom itself, once day turns to night, certain paths are closed off and getting around the park becomes a different experience before Tink closes out the happiest day.
