Funko Friday: Get To Punkin Chuckin’ With ‘Pumpkin Showdown’

This week, we’re taking a look at Pumpkin Showdown, a card game based on Funko’s Boo Hollow original line of silly and spooky characters, a prefect addition for your Halloween gaming. Pumpkin Showdown is a fun, fast-paced game for 3 to 6 players ages 6 and up.

In Pumpkin Showdown, players are throwing pumpkins to try and knock out the other players. Not literally throwing pumpkins, but attempting to play same-color cards with a higher total numerical value than the player at which they are throwing. Defending players get to roll the die to determine how many cards of the same color that they can defend with, or if they even need to defend at all, since the die allows for the defender to duck out of the attack altogether. Defenders also have their own cards they can play to reverse the attack back onto the attacker. When a player has been hit three times, they are out of the game.

Included in the box are 46 Pumpkin Cards, 13 Hit Cards, 1 Pumpkin Die, 1 Thrower Token (not really needed, but there it is), and the Instructions. Gameplay sessions average about 20 minutes.

Much like Funko’s Elf: Snowball Showdown, where players are throwing snowballs instead of pumpkins, the game is easy to pick up and a ton of fun to play. Even younger players can quickly pick up the game and start playing, making it ideal for Halloween parties this season and beyond.
