This week, we believe in BELIEVE with the Ted Lasso Party Game, for 2 to 6 players ages 10+. In this party game based on the AppleTV+ series, players work together to beat the clock and try and motivate their team, executives, and staff by responding to their various moods. Score 45 morale as a group and your team wins. Sounds easy, right?
Included in the Ted Lasso Party Game box are the Game Board, 5 Location Mats, 2 Coach Movers (Lasso & Beard) with bases, 12 Event Cards, 14 Character Cards, 54 Believe Cards, 32 Trouble Tiles, the Biscuit Box, Football Die (a soccer ball for us here in the States), Scoring Clip, Reference Card, and the Rule Book. Additionally, a Ted Lasso themed timer can be downloaded to your smart phone or tablet. It’s not required, but it adds to the ambiance while playing. Average gameplay sessions last around 20 minutes.
The game is played in 4 rounds. Each round, players draw Believe cards and work together to play all your group’s cards before the 2 minute timer runs out. Players must match your cards to the emotions on each player’s Trouble tiles. At the end of each round, Trouble tiles are removed based on the cards played.
Play moves quickly in Ted Lasso Party Game. Figuring out what color cards to play and where while trying to match to Trouble tiles while working with the other players while the timer ticks down can be a little overwhelming at first. However, once your group gets the feel for it, the game becomes less overwhelming while remaining just as intense and exciting. That said, if any of your players are anxious about a ticking timer or having to move quickly, you can totally house rules it so that the timer becomes less of a distraction/source of anxiety. Again, once your players settle in, gameplay is fast, furious, and a lot of fun.
