‘WandaVision’ Premieres Today on Disney+

The Marvel Cinematic Universe expands today on Disney+ with WandaVision, the first MCU series to launch on the streaming platform.

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, the new series focuses on Wanda and Vision living in apparent domestic bliss in a number of TV shows styled after sitcoms of the 50s, 70s, 90s, and so on. Obviously, things aren’t quite what they seem, with the illusion breaking and shifting throughout (oh, and the fact that Wanda killed Vision — scratch that, reverse it — Thanos killed Vision in Avengers: Infinity War). What’s really going on? Is Wanda losing her mind? Is she being held prisoner? If WandaVision is based in some part on Marvel’s “House of M” comic series, will WandaVision set the stage for the introduction of mutantkind into the MCU? How does all of this tie into Wanda’s next confirmed appearance in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness? We’ll find out together over the next nine weeks!

Let us know what you think of WandaVision as the season unfolds… I’m sure we’ll be discussing it in future episodes of the Pop Goes the Culture podcast and more shows in the Pop Goes the Culture Podcast Network!
