Pop Culture Crafts: Hocus Pocus Spell Book

Hocus Pocus 2 comes out today! To celebrate, I recreated the Sanderson sisters’ famous spell book! Make your own at home for a great centerpiece at your Hocus Pocus viewing party!

You will need:

  • a basic notebook
  • brown paper bag
  • air dry clay
  • brown, black, white, green, metallic gold paint
  • Glue
  • mod podge
  • an empty plastic water bottle
  • Scissors
  • A black pen
  • whatever else you’d like to decorate your spell book with!

Instructions:

  • Start by cutting your water bottle so that you get an eye shape.

  • Paint the inside of the eye.

  • While that dries, outline your book on your brown paper bag and cut it out. Crumble the paper to make it look aged then flatten and glue onto the outside of the book.
  • Glue your eye onto your book and shape the clay around it to look like eyelids. Also shape little snakes and arrange them onto your book.
  • Once dry, glue it all down.
  • Next, decorate and paint your book as you like. Don’t forget to add stitching with a black pen!

Fill this notebook with spells of your own or impress your cashier by using it for grocery lists! Don’t forget to check out more of our Hocus Pocus crafts and recipes!
